Delicate embellished dress, dry cleaned

Heavily decorated dresses cannot go through a normal wash. Sequins, mirror work and gold embroidery sit on a delicate ground — heat, water and a spin cycle will pull stitches, cloud the metal and distort the hem.
This halter dress came in for professional dry cleaning. The beading runs over the bodice, straps and chevron skirt, with a lined, scalloped hem. We clean pieces like this on the same rail as wedding and prom wear: solvents chosen for the fabric, then a careful press so the embroidery sits flat.
We also shorten and take in occasion dresses when the hem is this busy — the length comes out above the border so the mirror line stays even. Customers come from Chigwell, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Woodford and East London. Drop in on Manor Road; parking is free on site.
